Affiliate Disclosure
SlipperSkin participates in affiliate advertising programs and sells clearly labelled sponsored placements. This page explains each one, because you should be able to tell exactly how a page you are reading is paid for.
How affiliate links work
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. That commission helps fund our editorial work and keeps the site free to read.
Our affiliate partners
- Amazon Associates, product links to Amazon
- Direct affiliate programs, we work directly with selected brands in our niche, which generally means better terms for readers than a generic network
Display advertising
No display advertising runs on SlipperSkin today. If we add it, ads will be labelled and visually distinct from editorial content, and this page will say which network serves them.
Sponsored placements
We sell sponsored placements, and every one of them is labelled as sponsored on the page it appears on, with the outbound link marked rel="sponsored". A sponsor pays for the placement and for our time. A sponsor cannot buy a position, a rating, or a recommendation. If you can see it, it is disclosed; if it is not disclosed, nobody paid for it.
Editorial independence
Our rankings and recommendations are never influenced by affiliate commission rates or by whether a company has paid us for anything. Products are evaluated on their merits using our published methodology. If a product with a lower commission rate, or no commission at all, is the better product, we say so.
